CHAMPIONSHIPS
DATE - 20th November 2022 Host - St GEORGE SAILING CLUB A Westerly breeze came in at around 9:30am at about 15-25 knots on the morning of Sunday 20th November 2022. The weather was otherwise fine. The breeze freshened further as the morning progressed and by 11:30am was consistently blowing at 20-30 knots and gusting to 40 knots, on occasions. At that time, the Bureau of Meteorology forecast was for it to remain this way until at least the early evening. At 12 noon, the Race Committee agreed that the conditions were well in excess of allowing a safe race to be sailed by either class (13's or 16's) and made a decision to postpone the racing for the remainder of the day. The option of holding four short course races will be considered for the second weekend of the State Championships at Gosford on 3rd/4th December 2022. |
